Qualification - Ideally you will have a degree qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering preferably at BEng / MEng level (other relevant degree disciplines may be considered)

As a Graduate Highways engineer your role will be focused in improving the way that people travel among the UK’s transport network and ensure that it’s safe, sustainable and as environmentally friendly as possible. My client is an award winning Multi disciplinary consultancy with plans to expand their highways and transportation sector. They are therefore seeking a Highways Engineer to join their tam based in Edinburgh.

Duties:

• Analysis and monitoring of current road systems

• Liaison with councils and police on accidents, traffic flow, noise and use of roads

• Designing new road lay outs and traffic flow systems using design highways software packages including CAD / AutoCAD

• Ensuring roads, bridges and lighting meet the approved regulations standards

• Stratagising highway / traffic improvements that satisfy local authorities expectations

• Reporting to senior engineers or local authorities

Typical Projects:

• You will be working on a variety of multi million pound projects for both local authorities and private developers
