A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced mining/coal research engineer to join its office in the East Midlands

Qualifications: You will need to be qualified to degree level in a geotechnical, engineering geology, mining or rock mechanics discipline. Ideally you will be Chartered or working towards this status.

Experience: You will need to have a proven record of research activities and research project administration//management in relation to coal mining, ground control and rock mechanics.

Salary: very competitive and negotiable (dependent on experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Research Manager and reporting to the Director (Research and Instrumentation)
• Delivery of technical reports
• Directing and commissioning technical research activities
• Undertaking thorough research prior to developing proposals for new projects
• Liaising with European partners (coal and mining related)
• Liaising with internal consultancy and instrumentation departments
• Project management
