Title:                         Projects Department Manager - EARTHPPL655

Location:                Middle East

Terms:                     Permanent, Staff

Description

This is an opportunity with a global integrated E&P business carrying out a major expansion project to increase field production and reserves. My client has a number of Middle Eastern production assets and currently has 2 organisation changing development projects running in parallel, both with 1000 wells on each field. Central to their growth expectations is the sustained successful use of EOR techniques alongside a clear exploratory focus for late 2009 onwards.

The projects department manager will be responsible for both of the development projects in country and will manage all EPC contractors acting as an interface to project teams located in the Asia.

You must have a proven track record in managing major sized projects which have a significant impact on company growth. You will have demonstrated in the past the ability to work internationally with different cultures in order to complete projects with industry recognised success. This is a key senior role essential to the smooth running of my client's current Middle Eastern projects. The successful candidate will play a major part in the growth of this operator in the coming years. In this role you will provide engineering and project management expertise to develop conceptual, preliminary engineering and design for operational projects. Evaluation and planning of potential key opportunities is a core part of this role as well as developing and overseeing potential opportunities through to eventual completion. Key to this is developing project plans, budgets, costs and controls whilst overseeing and managing project teams to ensure the projects are completed in time, within budget and carried out safely with minimum deferment and impact on existing production facilities.

As a suitable professional you will have a minimum of 15 years post education experience within a discipline/project engineering role. A relevant degree in engineering or other technical field is essential. A strong background in projects from a managerial perspective is needed alongside a good working knowledge of operations and production practices. Past management of EPC contractors and project teams is essential, with the ideal candidate moving from a successfully completed project into this position. Commitment to seeing a project through is of upmost importance to my client.

Ideally you will have come from a project engineer background having worked your way up into a management position with a recognized operator for at least the last 3 years.

This is a key role for my client and they expect the individual they seek is already a valued employee within a competitor. As such it may be that you are not actively seeking a change or do not currently have an up to date CV. With this in mind I would welcome you to contact me in the first instance to gain a deeper understanding of this opportunity in order to ascertain if it meets the criteria you have set for your next career move. I can be reached on the following any time up to 21:00 (GMT).
