Description

Petroleum People's Geoscience practice has been retained to secure the services of a seasoned Geophysicist for a medium sized operating company. This business has an enviable spread of operated acreage in a variety of conventional and complex geological settings around the world. This business relies on technological excellence to make their continued investment in E&P both sustainable and extremely profitable, which has manifested itself in the ultra deepwater plays that are currently ramping up in West Africa. This in turn has lead to the requirement for a Lead Geophysicist to be based in their office in Western Europe.

As a senior professional, you will oversee all ongoing exploration activities offshore West Africa in ultra deepwater. The role has significant technical weighting with specific regards to 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, seismic attribute analysis, and depth conversion. Probabilistic volume analysis and resource assessment will also be key aspects of the role. It is also expected that you would have knowledge of PSTM and PSDM as the emphasis is firmly on pre-salt environments.

In addition, the role will involve managerial/leadership responsibility and you will be charged with the planning and executing of exploration projects in the region. You will be the company's main representative in technical partner meetings. Therefore this role is specifically aimed at a Geophysicist with a minimum of 15 years experience working with a recognised independent operator in the Oil and Gas industry. You will be able to demonstrate leadership and mentoring proficiency in New Ventures.
