Title:                         Lead Reservoir Engineer - EARTHPPL653

Location:                Thailand, SE Asia

Terms:                     12 month Contract

Description

The Reservoir Engineering Department at Petroleum people is working with a junior operator to source a dynamic and ambitious Lead Reservoir Engineer for a 12 month residential contract in Thailand. This business has assets in a range of locations that span the globe and a targeted growth strategy for its onshore oil fields in Thailand. Filling this Reservoir Engineering position is critical to their future success - they require a lateral thinker who can lead with expertise in reservoir modelling, simulation and management. The in-coming Reservoir Engineer will take full responsibility for all Reservoir Engineering activities as the only expert in a small multidisciplinary team. Work will be conducted on heavily fractured volcanic reservoirs, where initial production rapidly declines during the well's operating life-span.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a broad Reservoir and Petroleum Engineering background - they will be responsible for their department in a flat organisation and need to be highly-motivated, self-starters. Work will include reserves estimation, the planning and delivery of infill drilling campaigns, field development planning, well testing and petroleum economics. As the rate of return develops, they will advise on the best way to develop their new department, introducing the appropriate software for reservoir modelling and staffing up as required. Oil is trapped within the fracture system of the reservoirs and this demands unconventional reservoir experience.

This is an immediate requirement and I am looking to engage suitable professionals as quickly as possible. Applicants must have had extensive exposure to fractured reservoirs, can come from operator or service company backgrounds and must have an industry-relevant MSc. The successful candidate will relocate full-time to Thailand for one year and will receive a tax-free day rate and 2 flights home, plus paid accommodation, utilities and transportation.

This is a brief outline of the position. Our methodology is based on absolute transparency and if your initial preference is to gain more information prior to committing your interest, I welcome you contact me on my details anytime up to 21:00 (GMT)
