This company are specialists in the worldwide water and waste water treatment and operation sector. To meet growth expectations they entered into the extended market of diversion, recycling and recovery of wastes with specific association to organic wastes to agriculture and product status.

With specific growth strategies of: waste to land; waste treatment; consultancy; and investment and ownership. First year performance has been impressive with waste to land operations embedding the company, and the establishment of a high quality management team. The company enters the second year with a growing order book, an establishment to grow operations across the UK and the confidence of future opportunities a first time marketing programme will deliver.

The growth of waste to land operations has brought forward the position of a Field Operations Manager (FOM).

Reporting to the General Manager the FOM will be responsible and lead and report all the field operations and logistics of the land management and operations of the company on a 24/7 service driven basis. Currently the focus of this activity is north England based, however, it is anticipated that this will rapidly extend to a central management role of company operations in south England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. The position will be based and report into the Head Office in North Manchester yet is recognised to have a practical flexibility around remote working practices and home working.

The FOM will manage and lead all field and logistic activities on behalf of the General Manager and the Management Team and be integral to the development of successful growth and sales propositions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and reporting of all operational activities - initially waste to land. A weekly and monthly report is required.
  • Identification, establishment, management, and maintenance of an accessible land bank
  • Relationship management with land owners, clients, EA
  • Quality control of land management including duty of care, application monitoring, soil sampling, waste transfer notification.
  • Management, maintenance and logistics of equipment support
  • Management of sub contractors
  • Health and Safety compliance of the company operations
  • Management of a 24/7 service driven on call support
  • Trading of stockpiles
  • Assist development of a total waste management offer
  • Manage interface with waste treatment facilities
  • Advise on the management of waste treatment facilities
  • Identification, development and support of sales opportunities
  • Enhance operational margins
