multi-disciplinary project teams, as well as assisting in development of the
team.
Essential Experience
You must have extensive experience of undertaking
environmental assessments on a variety of projects including transportation,
rail and land development schemes.
A strong working knowledge and understanding of EIA processes
and relevant UK legislation is essential, as is an understanding of a range of
technical environmental disciplines. Strategic Environmental Assessment and
Sustainability Appraisals are an important and growing part of our business, and
the successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record in this area.
Experience must include project management responsibilities,
including commercial and risk aspects. The candidate must be able to take on and
manage projects with minimum supervision. An understanding of bidding and
business development would also be desirable.
Essential Qualifications
You will have a degree in environmental science or similar
relevant subjects, and will hold full professional membership of the Institute
for Environmental Management and Assessment, or equivalent. The candidate will
also ideally hold a postgraduate degree in an environment-related field.
Desirable Qualifications
Registration on IEMA’s EIA Practitioner scheme would be
desirable.
Additional qualifications relating to project management,
commercial skills or sales and marketing would be a great benefit.
Personal Characteristics
Good written English, report writing and editing skills and
computer literacy are essential. A strong attention to detail is important in
producing robust Environmental Statements. The candidate will be a good team
player with the ability to effectively manage project teams and work with the
minimum of supervision.
