This waste management operator requires a Development
Engineer for their offices in Kent.
You will be able to manage the Company’s Business Development
activities in relation to Engineering within the parameters. You will be
responsible for the engineering part of business development in the south east
region. Responsible for Development project budgets up to £0.5 million
individually (consultants and advisors fees, consent fees etc). Lead on design
engineering and have a key role in defining implementable technical solutions
for local authorities and for merchant facilities. Assess the viability of each
contract or project in conjunction with Engineering, Operations and other
relevant departments. Project manage the design, procurement, tender process for
engineering solutions until the successful completion of negotiations has been
achieved and handed over to Operations. Project manage the Development Projects
including feasibility, outline design, cost estimates, prep and submission of
planning and licensing / permit applications.
You will carry out annual and timely Performance Annual
Reviews (PAR’s) of all direct reportees where appropriate. You must remain aware
at all times of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety, for the
Health and Safety of those directly responsible to you, your work colleagues and
any others who may be effected by the operations under your responsibility or
control. You must ensure that at all times the correct PPE is worn. Please refer
to the Health and Safety Policy for further details on your specific
responsibilities. You must adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures
(including but not limited to) those specified in the Employment Handbook, H&S
Policy, EMS System, IMS System, Management Guide and any financial/accounting
systems.
To project manage Development Projects including feasibility,
outline design, cost estimates, prep and submission of planning and licensing /
permit applications. Direct and manage consultants. Maintain an overview
engineering and process suppliers and civil contractors. Maintain an overview of
the electricity supply chain pertinent to the company. Provide support to the
Regional Commercial Managers especially with regard to completion of contractual
arrangements. Support new business opportunities that add value to companies
asset base including acquisitions and joint ventures, the establishment of
front-end facilities such as transfer stations and MRF’s.
