157835 Associate Director / Senior Project Manager

Salary: £50K+
Reporting to the UK Director of Waste to Energy, this
international consulting engineering company require an Associate
Director/Senior Project Manager.
The successful person will be able to lead the companies
drive to acquire and deliver broad scale waste to energy projects for private
sector clients (waste contractors, major waste producers) and public
authorities.

Define the scope of services that the company is credible
to offer to the target market / customer.

Identify and work with clients that are targets for the
range of services and present the firm’s capabilities to them, particularly
waste industry players.

Identify potential clients that are targets for the
extended range of services and present the firm’s expanded capabilities to
them.

Organise the production and presentation of proposals to
potential clients. Support the Director in negotiations to win the work.

Assemble the project teams needed to deliver the specified
service to clients, drawing on the resources from other company teams and
offices and external expertise if necessary.

Project manage the delivery of the Technical Advice to the
client in accordance with the terms of engagement.

Maintain contacts with clients and ensure projects are
completed to their satisfaction and opportunities for follow-on work are
optimised.

Ensure work stages are completed and reports as necessary
are prepared, checked and quality assured prior to delivery to the client.

Maintain technical and professional excellence through a
programme of professional development and education.

Represent the Resources Team in industry forums such as
conferences, exhibitions and seminars.

Contribute to maintaining target utilisation of staff
across the Team, and for the WtE section.

Manage the revenues and costs of projects to attain or
exceed margin.
You will be a graduate in a technical or engineering
discipline. Ideally, you will have a post-graduate qualification in
environmental management and/or MCIWM.
Several different backgrounds would equip candidates with the
required experience:

Engineering / Environmental consultancy - principal or
associate director level

Private sector waste industry – technical manager or
project development manager

Public sector environmental manager – possible, but
unlikely if whole career in public sector
You will have a proven ability to deliver projects, meeting
timescales, quality and financial targets. A well-developed skills in managing
staff and financial resources. A successful track record of winning business (if
from a consultancy or waste management company) or the aptitude and credibility
to develop business (if from the public sector) development.
