Technical Director Civil & Earthworks Engineering
Merseyside
£45-50,000 annum
Ref: 152493
This consulting firm are seeking to appoint a practical engineer with experience of the development, design and construction of landfills, quarries, earthworks and associated infrastructure. You will be responsible for a number of staff and workload management, but be very much a hands on manager. You will be proactive in maintaining and developing the existing client base and have the opportunity to progress onto the company board.
This will be a varied role and will include work involving land acquisition, site development, planning applications, environmental impacts assessments, waste permit applications, design, contract management, remediation and surface water management. Their client base includes most of the national waste management and extractive industry companies as well as local and national government bodies, land developers and overseas companies.
Good written and personal communication skills are essential together with a thorough and up to date understanding of construction contracts (ICE / NEC), the relevant planning and environmental regulatory regimes and health & safety legislation. The role requires good CAD skills and ideally good IT skills as well. Experience of tendering for and managing overseas contracts would be of interest.
You should have experience of landfill and quarry engineering, a relevant first degree and preferably a higher degree. Membership of a relevant body (e.g. ICE, CIWEM, CWM) would be an advantage.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate looking to join a highly reputable consultancy.
