Market leader in transportation engineering is looking to
recruit a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer into their team based in
Birmingham. As part of the Infrastructure Division you will be working on
Highways and Rail related projects including the Thames Link and Phase 2 of the
East London Line. Work will be varied and across the whole of the UK, in
particular Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and London.
The role will involve:

To lead multi-functional rail projects and coordinate work
packages undertaken by other groups

To provide specialist technical support in the field of
civil/structural engineering, providing assistance on rail infrastructure
projects

Deliver civil/structural engineering specific tasks and
contribute to the civil engineering input to multi disciplinary railway
engineering projects

Maintenance of own working knowledge across aspects of
engineering and contribute to developing the company expertise in same
-
Identify, understand and promulgate client needs and
expectations to ensure client satisfaction on all projects and maximise the
opportunities for repeat business

Build and maintain good relationships with clients, and
contribute to marketing of company to potential customers. Effective
leadership of the formulation of proposals

Oversee, mentor and develop the training and mentorship of
junior civil/structural staff to align the capability of the team with current
workloads, and future planned workloads
Experience
The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of relevant
laws, regulations and practices appropriate to the service delivery sector e.g.
HMRI Principals and Guidance, Railway Group Standards, Network Rail and LU
Company Standards, ‘Yellow Book'.
You should you be customer-focused and able to meet customer
demand for sector knowledge and expertise, have the ability to lead and manage
technical and non-technical resources. You should be Degree-qualified chartered
engineer, or similar professional status.
