Reporting to: Deputy Environment Team Manager

Job Purpose:

• Assist the Environment Team Manager with the delivery of ecology schemes.

• Management of ecological sub-consultants

• Ecological surveys

Tasks/Responsibilities as follows:

• Assist in the development and delivery of ecology schemes to achieve programme and budgetary requirements

• To design, order and supervise, if necessary, ecological works

• Attend meetings and liaise with the contractor to organise site work

• Preparation of ecology section of Options Reports

• Undertake ecology section of Environmental Assessments

• Prepare Appropriate Assessment Screening Matrices

• Ecological site surveying

• Co-ordinate ecology surveys for schemes.

• Provide advice on ecological protected species management issues within the Design Office.

• Identification and implementation of appropriate methodologies to deal with protected species.

• Monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with ecological method statements.

Typical Skills/Experience as follows:

• Degree in ecology or similarly related degree

• Possession of at least one protected species license and be working towards another one

• Experience undertaking ecology surveys

• Member of IEEM

• Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment is an advantage
