Job Description
My client is a very successful large construction firm that
is currently on the lookout for a very commercially aware Environmental Manager.
The successful candidate will have a good grasp of all environmental aspects
including sustainability (including knowledge of BREEAM), waste transfer,
ecology and land management. The post will be a holistic role encompassing
everything from large scale carbon reduction to reducing vehicle movements on
site.
It is an exciting post offering unrivalled opportunities for
progression. The candidate will report into the Health and Safety manager and in
time will look to develop an environmental team underneath them.
The role will require a fair amount of travel across the
south but the candidate will be reimbursed with a company car or car allowance.
The successful candidate wil have experience of the
following: -
Technical
-
Educated to degree level in a relevant environmental or
scientific discipline
-
Relevant experience in construction
-
Ideally qualified in the NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in
Environmental Management (DipEM).

A qualified Internal Auditor with demonstrable experience
of completing internal audits. Lead Auditor status beneficial but not
essential.

An understanding of the requirements of BS EN ISO
14001:2004 and experience in facilitating registration surveillance visits.

A strong knowledge of all environmental disciplines,
including sustainability, waste, ecology and land management.
Management / interpersonal skills
-
Good presentation, written, analytical and IT skills.

Qualified to ‘Train the Trainer’ level as a minimum.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and
educate/train at all levels.

Strong client facing skills and the ability to communicate
with people of all levels and backgrounds.
