Faculty position in the field of Built Environment

The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a non-profit research and educational institution with a strong scientific and technological orientation, emphasizing international collaborations and cross-disciplinary research and post graduate education. CyI, through its established research centers, addresses challenging issues that are important at both the regional and international levels. Many of its research activities are being carried out in partnership with leading institutions in the respective thematic areas.
The new faculty member will enhance and provide leadership for the Built Environment research activities within the activities of the Energy Division of EEWRC and also contribute to the development and delivery of relevant future academic courses. The Built Environment is an integral part of the Energy Division's portfolio and as a research field, is of high importance both for Cyprus and the region. It concerns an activity whose importance is rising rapidly and it is expected to be generously funded by the EU because of its importance in mitigating and adapting to climate change. Main research fields include Energy Efficiency, Energy Sustainability in the Built Environment and Urban Heat Island Effect.
The successful candidate will be actively engaged with expanding the group's research portfolio, implementing the on-going research, the development of novel ideas and concepts and the development of relevant academic courses. As a faculty member, an aptitude and/or experience in mentoring and teaching master or doctoral students is necessary as the successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to the Institute's graduate program.
The candidate will work in Cyprus and will be offered a tenured or tenure-track position and an attractive salary and benefits package depending on the level of experience.
