Head of Land Use, Planning & Development (LUPD)

Part of the UK Natural Environment Research Council, the British Geological Survey is looking to appoint a visionary leader to join our senior team in implementing a new strategy to consolidate and enhance our position as a world leading geological survey and environmental science research organisation.

You will be expected to develop, communicate and deliver a strategy and programme of innovative and relevant cross-disciplinary geoscience for the LUPD sectors.

You will engage with public and private sector stakeholders and develop collaborative research partnerships with a wide range of environmental science disciplines, ensuring the LUPD theme delivers knowledge and understanding to support policy and decision-making for living with environmental change.

You will have a good grasp of developing funding opportunities and strategies in the research councils, government agencies and the private sector and should be able to communicate effectively and authoritatively as a forward looking spokesperson for BGS in the area of LUPD.
