Department of GeographyAssistant Professor - GIScienceThe University at Buffalo (UB) Department of Geography invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in GIScience starting in Fall 2014. The department is seeking highly qualified candidates who show promise of establishing a strong research program, including publications in high quality refereed journals and extramural grants, in any substantive area of GIScience, including Big Data, cyberGIS, Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), sensor systems, and online social media. The individual hired will also have teaching and service responsibilities including but not limited to undergraduate and graduate instruction, and the supervision of graduate student research in the Department of Geography. Ample opportunities for collaboration exist within the department and the university. A Ph.D. in Geography or a related discipline with GIScience competence is required at the time of hiring.
