MSc Geographical Information ManagementAccredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered SurveyorsCranfield University's MSc Geographical Information Management is a unique postgraduate course providing a balanced coverage of the key GIS technologies - GIS, remote sensing, GPS and spatial data management. Whether you study full or part-time, this course prepares you for a challenging career in a range of commercial, industrial and research sectors that now routinely make use of GI technologies. You will develop specialist skills and acquire experience of spatial problem solving. The course comprises eight assessed modules, three group projects and an individual research project. The group projects enable the realism of real life projects to be introduced, and the individual research project provides an opportunity to study a problem in some detail. Entry requirements: Candidates must possess, or be expected to achieve, a 1st or 2nd class UK honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a wide range of backgrounds such as geography, geology, environmental sciences, surveying, engineering, agriculture/forestry. Other relevant qualifications together with considerable industrial experience may be considered. The course does not require any prior knowledge of GIS, remote sensing or GPS.
