Fugro Survey Limited forms part of Fugro's Offshore Survey Division and is a market leading survey company, providing a full range of survey, positioning and construction support services in North West Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean. To meet the growing demands of an extended fleet of Fugro's own vessels as well as the many client vessels used for survey operations, we require additional skilled, motivated and flexible personnel to add to our core staff of personnel within both the Environmental and Survey Construction and Positioning Departments.
The survey work carried out by Fugro Survey Limited is undertaken for a variety of applications, predominantly for the oil and gas industry. Some typical applications would be site investigation for offshore installations, inspection of existing seabed infrastructure, geohazard assessment for offshore drilling operations and field developments.
Applications are invited for the following positions based in our Great Yarmouth office:
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE TEAM LEADER: An exciting opportunity is available for an Environmental Team Leader to head up a team of office-based environmental scientists. Responsible for timely production of high quality environmental survey reports, this important position will also involve liaising with Clients and other managers as necessary. The role will involve line management duties including personnel appraisals and training as well as general support to the Environmental Survey Manager.
The successful candidate will be a senior environmental scientist with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the oil and gas industry. Good reporting writing skills are essential as is planning and prioritisation, time management and delegation skills. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to building and maintaining a strong reporting team in a dynamic and growing environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL TENDERING PROJECT COORDINATOR: We also require a Tendering Project Coordinator to work within the Environmental Survey project management and commercial team. This role will involve tendering and project management of environmental baseline and habitat mapping surveys both in the UK and worldwide. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 year's experience of environmental field surveys; prior experience of tendering and/ or project management is desirable but not essential as training can be given to the successful candidate.
Although both of the above positions are predominantly office based roles, offshore work of short durations may be possible periodically for suitable candidates.
PAM OPERATOR: We are seeking to recruit experienced PAM operators to join the Environmental Survey department. Positions are available for office based and offshore based roles; candidates should indicate any preference at application stage. The successful applicant will have good experience in installing, configuring and operating PAM systems and be familiar with PAMGUARD software. Experience with working on large seismic vessels as an MMO and PAM operator will be a distinct advantage. Training in the use of environmental survey techniques such as sediment and water sampling and seabed photography may be provided.
This is a unique opportunity to the right individual to assist in establishing Fugro's PAM and MMO operations on an international scale.
PROCESSING SURVEYOR: Due to continued growth of our survey positioning activities we have a vacancy within our Data Centre. The successful applicant will work within an existing team primarily providing survey and processing support for renewable reporting. Duties will include processing of survey data in addition to coordination and quality control of data received from offshore operations. The successful candidate should hold a suitable degree or have attained suitable military experience. Minimum two years industrial experience is essential.
TRAINEE DATA PROCESSOR: We are also looking to recruit a Trainee to complement existing reporting functions within our Data Centre. This position would ideally suit a graduate who wishes to pursue a career within marine survey. Duties will include operation of various processing software and generally monitor data quality whilst also assisting with report preparation. The successful candidate will be a graduate holding a suitable survey, GIS related or mathematical degree.
