No. 11102 – TownsvilleJames Cook University (JCU) and the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) seek to appoint a Director for the Australian Coastal Ocean Radar Network (ACORN) based at JCU. The appointee will oversee operation and maintenance of the existing ACORN facilities and lead research and training in oceanography. The school invites applicants with technical and research expertise in HF ocean radar systems, and knowledge of coastal oceanography. Experience in project management and data management will be important attributes. Employment Type: Appointment will be full-time for a fixed-term from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2014 subject to a probationary period. Salary: Senior Lecturer - Academic Level C - $93,341 - $107,154 per annum or Associate Professor – Academic Level D - $111,758 - $122,805 per annum or Professor – Academic Level E - $143,066 per annum. Level of appointment and commencing salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience.
