Position Description:

MDA built and operates the RADARSAT-2 satellite and as Senior InSAR Specialist in MDA's Geospatial Services Business unit you will play a critical role in the growing InSAR services business.

The Senior InSAR Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the InSAR Environment for the GSI Services Business. He will function as the key InSAR specialist within MDA Geospatial Services and make contributions as Project Manager to commercial InSAR services projects and training activities. This position reports to the Director, Services and Technology.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the maintenance, improvement and expansion of EarthView InSAR and other crucial InSAR software technology that is being used for InSAR Services
• Serve as the Technical and Scientific Lead for InSAR technology within the GSI Services Business Unit
• Serve as Project manager for Commercial InSAR projects in Canadian and International context
• Work with a team of Geospatial Specialists in the execution of InSAR Services projects
• Serve as Software Engineering Lead while working with software engineers to implement required functionality
• Recommend, design and implement new algorithms and InSAR functionality
• Recommend, design and implement the hardware, software and IT capabilities required for a growing Services business
• Participate as InSAR Scientific and Engineering Lead in Development and Demonstration projects for the Canadian Space Agency and European Space Agency
• Provide SAR processing and InSAR processing related training courses to International and National customers based on existing and newly created training materials.

Requirements (experience/skills):

• Knowledge of SAR technologies including SAR processing and interferometric SAR processing
• Extensive knowledge of signal processing theory, processing algorithms, SAR techniques and software development
• Expert level knowledge of programming languages C, C++
• Expert knowledge and experience with scripting and High-Level languages such as Python and Matlab
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ambition to grow
