The Village of Northbrook's Department of Community Planning has an immediate opening for the newly-created position of GIS Coordinator. The GIS Coordinator will report to the Director of Community Planning and will provide a wide range of geographical technology services to all Village departments, elected and appointed officials and the general public. The GIS Coordinator must have excellent project management and communication skills, combined with an extensive working knowledge and understanding of Oracle databases and the most recent ESRI ArcGIS software. The GIS Coordinator must also have a demonstrated ability to establish protocols and procedures for data sharing and report and map generation.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Planning, Engineering or a related field, and will have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in GIS and related desktop software. The Village of Northbrook has a population of approximately 35,000 and is located in the northern suburbs of Chicago. The Village offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
