Database Developer and GIS SpecialistFixed-term (2 years)
The Malaria Atlas Project works on spatial estimates of malaria risk and related topics. We are currently recruiting a Database Developer with GIS skills and Java programming experience to lead database development for the group and take over the high-throughput production of map images . Both activities are linked to development of our web portal and the post-holder will take over routine technical maintenance of the website and make functional updates to a new online Javascript application that allows users to explore our data. You will have experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), excellent SQL skills and extensive experience programming in Java. These skills will be coupled with experience of using GIS software for both vector and raster manipulation, and an understanding of geoprocessing.
