Earth Observation Scientist

Parameter Space Ltd is a University College Dublin spin-out company, currently leading the development of a prototype platform as a Service (PaaS) to provide a cloud-based portal, hosted close to the data archives, to facilitate the exploitation and application of satellite and in-situ data by the EO community.

A scientist with experience in Earth Observation data analysis is required to contribute to the development and implementation of systems for processing and analysis of satellite data for a variety of applications. Applications may include change detection, monitoring, extraction and classification of information from imagery.

Required skills are as follows:

  • Master's (or equivalent industry experience) in Remote Sensing/GIS/Environmental Science or related area.
  • Ability to contribute to product development and to support data requests, e.g. providing advice on use of data sets.
  • Proven experience and skills in computer programming (e.g. Python, Java, C), preferably in a Linux environment.
