Cloud Product Manager

RapidEye is looking for a Cloud Product Manager to join the Marketing Department of RapidEye. Start date: As soon as possible. The deadline for submission of applications is July 15th, 2013.
Background:
RapidEye is a leading provider of quality high-resolution satellite imagery. With a constellation of five Earth Observation satellites, RapidEye images up to five million square kilometers of earth every day, and adds at least one billion square kilometers of imagery to its archive every year. With an unprecedented combination of wide area repetitive coverage and five meter pixel size multi-spectral imagery, RapidEye is a natural choice for many industries and government agencies.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Identify and validate customer requirements in the market (for both existing and future customers);
- Define business models and build business cases;
- Participate in product strategy committees;
- Define, implement and monitor product roadmaps;
- Define, implement and monitor product roll-out plans;
- Conduct technology assessment;
- Analyze and understand the competitive landscape;
- Monitor and incorporate industry innovations;
- Define product positioning and convert it into key market messages;
- Contribute to the creation of collateral and demos;
- Engage end-users to provide feedback on products and input for collateral;
- Sales enablement and support: Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and sales partners, train them and develop the sales tools that will support the selling process;
- Manage partner relationships (e.g. ESRI, OGC).
Requirements and Skills:
- At least four years of relevant product management experience in the geo-information industry or related field;
- Good understanding of cloud technology;
- Business or marketing-related degree, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong IT background in areas such as geospatial database management, geodata hosting, OGC standards, and cloud security;
- Strong written and oral English communication skills;
- Proficiency in other languages is welcome;
- Self-starter, works on own initiative, effectively communicating her/his plans, ideas and concepts to her/his supervisor;
- Highly organized, able to prioritize and work under tight deadlines;
- Team-player with strong interpersonal skills;
- Ambitious and committed to achieving success;
- Flexible to adapt to fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
Desired Specific Experience:
- Relevant knowledge about the geo-information / remote sensing industry
