Two Post-Doctoral scholars in atmospheric
remote sensing


Job Posting

The Earth and Environmental Sciences Department at Vanderbilt University is searching for:

  • A postdoctoral scholar in atmospheric radiative transfer theory. Experience with scattering radiative transfer is mandatory. Experience with lidar remote sensing and/or high-resolution optical satellite instruments, such as NASA's OCO-2 mission, is of advantage.
  • A postdoctoral scholar in microwave remote sensing of clouds and precipitation. Experience with microwave radiative transfer in the atmosphere, algorithm development, and/or satellite climatologies are of advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences, physics, or a closely related field. Excellent programming skills.

Appointment Terms

The positions are for initially one year, with the possibility of extension. The positions offer a competitive salary with generous benefits. The anticipated start date is 1 September 2018. The positions remain open until filled.
