Senior Hydrogeologist/Program Manager - Vancouver, Canada

Based in Vancouver, you will lead large projects in the mining sector. You will be working with experienced professionals in a multi-disciplinary team. You will also be involved in a range of water resources, mining and environmental projects in North America and overseas. You should have the flexibility and desire to undertake occasional international travel and assignments.

Requirements:

• Good first degree in Earth Sciences or related subject with MSc in hydrogeology
• More than 15 years of experience in providing consulting services in hydrogeology, primarily in the mining sector
• Managed more than 10 significant projects in consulting services in mining hydrogeology
• Planned and executed major field investigation programs for groundwater studies in mining
• Expertise in groundwater characterization for open pit and underground mine developments
• Expertise in pit dewatering analysis and techniques
• Expertise in investigation and development of water supply wells
• Expertise in developing models for site wide water balance including surface hydrology and groundwater flow
• Expertise in the hydrology and hydrogeology of waste dumps
• Expertise in the hydrogeology of tailings management systems
• Expertise in developing mine water management plans including closure
• Expertise in planning and executing groundwater monitoring programs including piezometer installation and data analysis
• Expertise in geology and geological interpretation
• Thorough understanding of groundwater modelling principles and practice sufficient for management of groundwater modelling teams
• Understanding of principles and practice of mining geochemistry issues
