Senior Oil & Gas Hydrogeologist / Project Manager - Calgary, Canada

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in Oil and Gas operations and related water management with a proven track record for effectively managing people, contractors, and field operations. Your background in hydrogeology, geochemistry, and civil engineering projects will provide you with the insight to plan and execute the best water management strategies for our oil and gas sector clients, deploying best-in-class Schlumberger technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of technical experts (hydrogeologists, geochemists, modelers, project engineers, and field technicians) for our large petroleum projects
• Take a leading role in business development and client relationship management
• Plan, execute, and supervise field programs for groundwater studies and EIA's in groundwater sourcing and disposal
• Oversee groundwater characterization studies for SAGD, Shale Gas and EOR projects
• Manage the development of site-wide water management solutions throughout the life cycle of oil and gas development projects, from the initial planning stages through the operating phase to site closure

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in consulting experience with familiarity with oilfield operations.
• Solid understanding of principles and practice of petroleum hydrogeology and geochemistry of formation fluids, surface and downhole geophysics, and GIS applications
• Professional accreditation eg. P.Eng or P.Geo
• University degree in Earth Sciences or related subject with MSc in hydrogeology
• Track record managing large projects in hydrogeology
• Experience using oilfield models such as PETREL is an asset
