The Senior Groundwater Modeller collaborates with the SWS local and international Modelling teams to provide state of the art technical services to our clients.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work closely with an integrated project team
• Provide technical modelling input to a wide variety of hydrogeological and hydrological projects, including water resources investigations, mining hydrology (when hired for mining projects), hydro-ecology and environmental impact assessments.
• Contribute to the development of numerical and analytical groundwater, surface water and unsaturated zone models.
• Manage modelling projects and coordinate modelling activities on large water resource programs.
• Provide mentoring and leadership to the existing team of groundwater modellers.

Qualifications:

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in groundwater modelling
• B.Sc. Earth Sciences or related subject with MSc or PhD in Hydrogeology or associated relevant discipline
• Strong IT / data management skills, adaptable to using SWS advanced hydrogeological conceptual modelling tool
• Project management skills
• Capable of developing and leading a modelling team
• Demonstrated experience in all phases of groundwater modeling, including conceptual modeling, and numerical model design, construction, calibration, and use.
• Excellent presentation, communication and report writing skills (English)
• Programming skills an advantage
