Senior Project Manager in the Mining Sector - Denver

Based in Denver, you will manage the largest projects of our office and projects that have a high level of risk or complexity in the mining sector. You will be expected to take a major role in improvement of project management within SWS through training and mentoring. You will take a lead in defining project management tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages projects using recognized project management methodologies, tools and procedures, while ensuring overall delivery.
  • Contact for the project, ensuring quality of deliverables and accountability for the overall performance of the team.
  • Develops budgets; exercises financially prudent cost control.
  • Works with the client to ensure the objective, scope and deliverables for the project are clearly defined.
  • Ensures safe operations, promotes a culture of technical integrity and highest levels of service quality.
  • Identifies opportunities for integrated project solutions.
  • Manages and controls accurate project plans ensuring efficiency.
  • Maintains effective and continuous communication with entire project team.
  • Represents Schlumberger to the clients.
  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities within client organizations
  • Works with partnerships or other third parties to build strong technical and project delivery synergies
  • Manages the project P&L
  • Responsible for project equipment budget planning, equipment ordering and maintenance
  • Provides support, coaching and mentoring to team members and less experienced project managers, if required
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Geology or other Earth Science related field, MS or PhD a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Engineering or Earth Sciences
  • Broad experience in hydrogeology and hydrochemistry related to mining
  • Minimum of 6 years of Project Management Experience involving direct client interaction
  • Demonstrated Project Management expertise
  • Must have a second domain of expertise
