Senior Project Manager in the Mining Sector - Denver
Based in Denver, you will manage the largest projects of our office and projects that have a high level of risk or complexity in the mining sector. You will be expected to take a major role in improvement of project management within SWS through training and mentoring. You will take a lead in defining project management tools and methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Leads and manages projects using recognized project management methodologies, tools and procedures, while ensuring overall delivery.
- Contact for the project, ensuring quality of deliverables and accountability for the overall performance of the team.
- Develops budgets; exercises financially prudent cost control.
- Works with the client to ensure the objective, scope and deliverables for the project are clearly defined.
- Ensures safe operations, promotes a culture of technical integrity and highest levels of service quality.
- Identifies opportunities for integrated project solutions.
- Manages and controls accurate project plans ensuring efficiency.
- Maintains effective and continuous communication with entire project team.
- Represents Schlumberger to the clients.
- Identifies and develops new business opportunities within client organizations
- Works with partnerships or other third parties to build strong technical and project delivery synergies
- Manages the project P&L
- Responsible for project equipment budget planning, equipment ordering and maintenance
- Provides support, coaching and mentoring to team members and less experienced project managers, if required
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Geology or other Earth Science related field, MS or PhD a plus
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Engineering or Earth Sciences
- Broad experience in hydrogeology and hydrochemistry related to mining
- Minimum of 6 years of Project Management Experience involving direct client interaction
- Demonstrated Project Management expertise
- Must have a second domain of expertise
