Due to an increase in the number of projects being undertaken and a continued focus on sustainability, Berkeley Homes (Capital) is looking to appoint a Graduate Sustainability Advisor. This role will provide the right candidate with unique opportunity to help promote sustainability across all areas of the business.

What will you do?

In a typical week you will be;

  • Undertaking sustainability reviews of live construction sites to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements. These reviews will focus on waste management, pollution prevention, protecting ecology and mitigating nuisance.
  • Engaging with a variety of departments to promote the business' sustainability objectives.
  • Researching new products and best practice in order to provide Project Teams with recommendations for improvement.
  • Tracking progress against company sustainability targets by collating, analysing and reporting data relating to energy water and waste along with other KPIs.
  • Providing updates on sustainability initiatives to staff and contractors.
  • Working with office staff to develop initiatives to improve sustainability.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the sustainability agenda and new legislation to understand how it may affect business activities.

Who are we looking for?

The right candidate will hold a degree in a relevant subject and will be passionate about promoting sustainability. You must be confident, articulate and resilient in your approach, with the ability to apply sustainability principles in a commercially focused manner. You will also have:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Confidence in working with a variety of different people
  • The ability to motivate people to change their behaviour
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • An understanding of sustainability issues ideally within the construction/house building industry

Details

  • The position is based near Tower Bridge, but will involve frequent travel to construction sites across Greater London.
  • Standard working hours are 8am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
