The 'Cat Modelling' group in the 'Corporate Underwriting Services' unit addresses the creation of loss scenarios for earthquake, windstorm and flood with the objective of determining the loss potential stemming from these natural perils.
For the purpose of strengthening our team we are seeking to appoint a committed associate as a:
Natural Perils Specialist -
focusing on earthquakes
at the earliest possible date.
Your tasks:
Your area of responsibility will encompass all aspects of scientific and economic assessment and control of natural perils potential, in this case, particularly earthquakes. Your tasks will focus on developing and testing models for assessing the earthquake risk, plausibilizing the input data and results and helping the operational units to utilize the assessment tools which are created.
Your qualifications:
You will possess a university degree having majored in seismology, earthquake engineering or a comparable mathematical or scientific subject. A sound grasp of statistics, a standard programming language and the MS Office tools (Excel, Access) is a prerequisite, as is a knowledge of a GIS. In addition, you will possess a very good knowledge of English and excellent communicative skills.
