Seismologist
Wellington, New ZealandGNS Science is seeking to appoint an outstanding seismologist to complement our seismology team strengths, in areas of seismology such as ground motion modelling, 3D seismic wave propagation, earthquake rupture modelling, inversion for source parameters and 3D crustal-scale earth models, and synthetic seismicity modelling by multiple fault interaction. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in seismology or geophysics with a strong physics and mathematics background, demonstrated research experience, a strong publication record and clear potential for innovation. Excellent waveform data is available from New Zealand's GeoNet network (www.geonet.org.nz) as well as from a range of portable arrays.
