GNS Science is New Zealand's primary Institute for research on understanding earthquake hazards and reducing earthquake risks and is recognised internationally in these areas.
We are seeking a talented, motivated seismologist for a permanent, fulltime position in our Avalon, Lower Hutt office. The seismologist will undertake research into broadband ground motion simulation and seismic wave propagation in 3D earth models and will preferably also have a background in earthquake source physics. They will provide ground motion modelling and computational seismology capability, from underpinning science to application for the benefit of New Zealand. Opportunities will include, but are not limited to, research contributing to the National Seismic Hazard Model.

The salary range for this position is between $80,700 to $136,600 depending on the successful candidate's experience.
