Geospatial Modeller - Geomorphology / Erosion Processes
Location: Palmerston North, New Zealand
We are looking for an enthusiastic Geospatial Modeller to undertake research, consultancy and research support in erosion and sediment processes, mitigation and modelling.
About the opportunity
The Soils and Landscapes team at Manaaki Whenua leads research on understanding the complex inter-relationships that control the response of soils and landscapes to climatic and human-induced pressures, evaluating current risk, offering sustainable land use and natural resource allocation options. The purpose of the Geospatial Modeller role is to undertake research and consultancy in erosion and sediment processes.
The position is fixed-term (four years), full-time (37.5 hours per week) and is based at our Palmerston North site.
You will be possess a PhD in Geomorphology/erosion processes or related disciplines, with ideally at least three years' post-PhD experience, and will have some refereed publications, inclusive of lead authorship. Ideally you will be a flexible, pragmatic, self-starter, capable of independently and effectively planning your time and resources.
