The Leibniz-Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) e.V. Müncheberg, Germany, offers a: Senior scientist position (Tenure Track)"Soil Landscape Modelling"(Kennziffer20/2007 )We are looking for a scientist with excellent skills in spatio-temporal soil landscape modelling. He/she should be able to apply and develop (geo-)statistical as well as stochastic methods for an analysis and simulation of spatio-temporal dynamics of soil properties and processes in landscapes. A special focus will be on the modelling of carbon dynamics in soil landscapes, including feedback mechanisms to climate and land use changes, as well as soil landscape development. The position is to be filled as soon as possible. Applicants should provide evidence of (i) a PhD in soil science, other related geosciences, or agricultural sciences, with a focus on spatio-temporal soil modelling, (ii) more than 5 peer-reviewed papers in ISI-cited scientific journals, (iii) experience in fund raising, as well as personnel management. He/she will head a working group positioned at a prominent place within the ZALF Research Program. Therefore willingness of interdisciplinary scientific work is a precondition. The researcher will additionally contribute with statistical consulting activities to other research projects on demand. Extended third party fund raising is also expected. Knowledge of German language is not required initially, but should be acquired during the first 3 years.
