2 (Post Doc) Research Associate in Organic Contaminant Uptake by Plants
We seek an exceptional postdoctoral associate to conduct State-funded independent research on the plant uptake of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Activities may include conducting greenhouse studies, extractions and wet chemistry, method development and mass spectrometry analysis, and X-ray microscopy. Opportunities exist to interact closely with a group of distinguished intramural and extramural collaborators, and interact with a broader network of researchers studying PFAS. Related activities include laboratory work; data collection at national laboratories; supervising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students; outreach to the community; data analysis; report, manuscript, and proposal preparation; and presentation of research at local, regional, and national meetings.
The duration is approximately 15 months with the possibility of extension on related projects or others in the Soil Biogoechemistry Laboratory. More information about the NC State Soil Biogeochemistry Laboratory group can be found at: https://duckworth.wordpress.ncsu.edu/
