The Role

AGE is seeking an established senior groundwater professional to join our diverse team. Managing groundwater projects across Australia, this role operates at the client interface, liaising with a team of project consultants to deliver on of a variety of challenging endeavours, meeting budgetary, timeframe, and quality targets. Field investigations will be a key aspect in this role for larger projects. You will analyse and assess the impacts from resource projects on groundwater systems; develop groundwater supplies for towns, villages, mines, irrigation, stock, and domestic purposes; determine dewatering and groundwater control needs around mines and deep excavations; and assess groundwater issues to assist in the development, management, and closure of landfills. This is a full time, long term role with sensible work hours and a cohesive, family friendly team.


  • You will be an established Senior Hydrogeologist, Geochemist, Hydrologist or Environmental Scientist, with a strong theoretical background, and a minimum of 7 years' experience in groundwater or a related field.
  • Your extensive knowledge of groundwater management and an interest in the challenges of Queensland's complex ancient landscape will be complemented by refined interpretative and analytical skills. Your understanding of the application of Federal and State legislation for groundwater management, regulation and compliance will be favourably viewed.
  • With strong verbal and written communication skills, you will produce exemplary written reports. You will enjoy leading a project schedule and motivating the team to produce high quality results. Active leadership skills will be highly valued and an interest in mentorship programs would be an advantage.
  • With your advanced business development and management skills you will liaise directly with key stakeholders and enrich the client relationship. You will know how to convert an opportunity into a project and manage it from start to finish.
  • Applicants will require a minimum of an honours degree in earth science, geoscience, environmental science, geology or engineering, with a preference for Masters qualifications or higher in hydrogeology or geochemistry.
