Postdoctoral / PhD on Contaminant Transport in the Vadose Zone
Real time continuous monitoring of contaminant migration in the subsurface is critical for characterization of pollutants fate and to effectively enable remediation. It is the key for realistic evaluation of the potential environmental risks. Prof. Ofer Dahan research group specilize vadose zone hydrology while developing novel monitoring technologies for the unsaturated zone (https://in.bgu.ac.il/en/bidr/ziwr/ehm/pages/staff/dahan-ofer.aspx).
Participation an EU funded research project titled "Strategies for health protection, pollution control and elimination of next generation refractive organic chemicals from the soil, vadose zone and water (SCENARIOS)".
Application and operation of advanced monitoring systems for characterization of PFAS transport in the subsurface. It is an internation project that will be conducted paralely in several EU coutries and in Israel. It involves substential field operation as well as controled laboratory experiment, data analysis and modeling of water flow and contaminat transport in the unsaturasted zone.
