Technical Officer (Hydrogeology)
Grade Rate: £27,138
About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Hydrogeologist to help us preserve and protect groundwater throughout the Thames area. Working as part of a team of experts, you'll put your research skills to meaningful use, supporting important work that guarantees a sustainable water supply for the local population and environment.
Involved in the work the Groundwater Resources and Hydrology team carry out, promoting and enforcing sustainable water management across the Thames catchment, this is a varied and rewarding role for a person passionate about making a positive difference to the environment.
A highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, you'll have the confidence to effectively analyse and interpret data. An enthusiastic communicator, you're comfortable presenting convincing verbal and written arguments and able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving.
Prior experience isn't a necessity, but you'll have a relevant degree and be able to demonstrate a keen interest in water resources. A Master's in Hydrogeology or specific work experience would be beneficial. With strong IT skills you will be extremely comfortable using spreadsheets, databases and ArcGIS to maximise the effectiveness of your work. It's a hands-on role that involves plenty of on-site work, so you'll need a UK driving license and be happy to travel.
With a genuine passion for Hydrogeology, you'll be joining a supportive organisation that's committed to helping you develop and succeed in your career.
