The University of Freiburg, Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Science, Institute of Hydrology, plans to fill a Full professorship of Environmental Hydrology (W2)We are looking for a qualified individual who can represent the broad field of hydrology in teaching and will complement existing research areas of an internationally active department and group of scientists in hydrology. The new faculty member will teach relevant hydrological courses in the new B.Sc. program in Environmental Sciences and in the M.Sc. program in Hydrology. Furthermore, the applicant is expected to contribute to the coordination of the B.Sc. program in Environmental Sciences. We invite applications from candidates whose field of research may be developed in any area of environmental hydrology with focus on regional to global quantitative and also qualitative aspects of water in the context of global change. We particularly welcome applicants who specialize in the analysis and simulation of the hydrological system's interactions and feedbacks within the soil-water-plant-atmosphere systems (ecohydrology) and whose research considers human impacts on the hydro- and ecosystem. The new faculty member will participate in the interdisciplinary Center for Water Research in Freiburg and in interdisciplinary activities related to teaching and research in collaboration with neighboring research units within the faculty and with other institutes and research centers at the University of Freiburg. Prerequisites for the application are a university degree and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in a relevant discipline, documented scientific achievements and teaching experience as a junior professor, from a postdoctoral lecturer qualification (habilitation), or as a research scientist within or outside Germany.
