The hydrogeology group at the Department of Earth Sciences aims mainly at developing strategies for groundwater research within the concept of integrated water resources management at the regional scale but we are open to develop other research activities in many fields of applied hydrogeology, including geotechnical applications, groundwater and soil remediation and groundwater management. The position includes the possibility to take part actively in the development of the research group, including building up infrastructure for field and lab research in cooperation with other groups at the department. Teaching is not mandatory but it is most welcome if the successful candidate wants to become involved in teaching activities. It is expected that the successful candidate develops his/her own research profile in the field of hydrogeology in close connection to the group's main research strategy by publishing in international journals and through applications for research grants.

The position is full time, for a duration of 2 (4) years.

The position is open for applicants with a Ph.D. degree obtained not longer than three years ago. However, applicants who do not fulfill this requirement are still welcome to contact Prof. Roland Barthel directly to discuss the options.
