Research Professor or Associate Research Professor in Hydrogeology

We are looking for a Research Professor or Associate Research Professor in Hydrogeology with focus on the water circulation in geological media in time and space (4D) and on solutions adapting to global change, hydrogeological interfaces, hydrogeochemistry and water movement. You will develop state-of-the-art research and innovations as well as customer-oriented applications. You are expected to successfully bid for competitive research funding sources, and to initiate, prepare and lead national and international science and innovation (S&I) projects in the field, thus implementing strategic competence development.
For the Research Professor position a PhD degree in geosciences or a closely related discipline is required. You are a recognized international expert in hydrogeological research, and you have an excellent track record and experience in S&I activities related to hydrogeological research and water management applications. Alternatively, the position may also be filled as an Associate Research Professor. In that case a PhD degree in geosciences or another closely related discipline is required in addition to a good postdoctoral experience in hydrogeology.
You must be highly motivated, have well-established networks with international research groups and be able to demonstrate an ability to attract external funding. Excellent communication skills in English are expected.

The appointment is for five years, with the possibility of extension. The preferred starting date is 1.1.2020. You will be located at one of our offices in Finland (Espoo, Kuopio, Kokkola or Rovaniemi). The starting salary for Research Professor is 5 950 - 6 340 eur/month and for the Associate Research Professor 5 080 - 5 410 eur/month.
