Faculty Positions - Groundwater Hydrology

The Biological and Environmental Sciences and Engineering (BESE) Division at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in collaboration with the Water Desalination and Reuse Center invites qualified applicants to apply for a Faculty position in Groundwater Hydrology.

The successful candidate will lead a cutting-edge research program that seeks to address critical problems in the management of the region's groundwater systems, as well as to explore research opportunities relevant to the water, oil, and gas industries.

Applications will be accepted from a broad range of specializations, but specific areas of expertise might include: aquifer storage and recovery/managed aquifer recharge; local-to-regional scale flow system characterization for resource assessment; surface water-groundwater interactions; and groundwater flow and transport as relates to environmental and energy considerations. Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds in geophysics, hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry, or geostatistics are particularly encouraged to apply. Previous experience with groundwater management in water scarce regions is advantageous, as are complementary skills in both numerical modeling and laboratory or field scale measurement of groundwater systems and processes.
