![]() Elizabeth May Chair in Sustainability and Environmental HealthThe Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Dalhousie University invites applications for the Elizabeth May Chair in Sustainability and Environmental Health, an endowed tenure-track or probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor. The mission of the Elizabeth May Chair is to provide inspirational, experiential, and transformative leadership for sustainability and environmental health scholarship through research and teaching. We are currently seeking an exceptional individual whose research focuses on the impact of synthetic contaminants (e.g. plastics, pesticides, industrial compounds, antibiotics and/or other pollutants) on ecosystem health in coastal and/or marine environments. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in environmental science or a closely related field, with post-doctoral experience considered an advantage. Successful candidates must demonstrate research excellence through the application and/or development of analytic methods and an outstanding track record of scholarly publications. The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences offers two undergraduate programs, a B.Sc. in Earth Science and a B.Sc. in Environmental Science, in addition to M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Earth and Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a rigorous externally funded research program that expands the research portfolio of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences while actively participating in the teaching initiatives of both the B.Sc. in Environmental Science (ability to teach in the areas of impact assessment and/or environmental chemistry is considered an asset), and the graduate programs.
