Salary: Grade, 7, £36,382-£40,927 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and is offered on a fixed term basis for one year.
The University of Glasgow's, School of Geographical and Earth Sciences (GES) is currently recruiting for a one-year fixed-term appointment starting in early 2022 to facilitate and expand research-led learning, teaching and scholarship across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We welcome applications from those whose teaching and scholarship is in Earth Science, Physical Geography, Environmental Science or related areas. The post-holder would be expected to teach in lecture, laboratory and fieldwork settings at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, undertake related course administration, and assist with recruitment to our degree programmes. They will be encouraged to keep abreast with current research and scholarship through collaborating with colleagues within the school, and by attending research group and school seminars, workshops and away-days.
GES is one of six schools in the College of Science and Engineering, and currently has 42 academic staff, more than 60 research students, and delivers teaching to approximately 700 undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. GES offers three undergraduate degree programmes and nine taught Masters programmes, and the school's teaching is consistently highly rated. Geology was 6th in the Complete University Guide 2022 with Geography and Environmental Science 11th, and in the 2020 National Student Survey GES had the most highly rated Geology programme in the UK, with a score of 100% for overall student satisfaction, and Human Geography had a score of 98%.
