![]() Academic Employee (f/m/d)Customised RADAR repository for Earth and Environmental data To facilitate Integration in V-FOR-WaTer and NFDI4EarthJob description The amount and diversity of digitally available environmental data is continuously increasing. Similarly increasing is the awareness of the importance of making these data FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) and open, to enable answering interdisciplinary and comprehensive research questions. However, the processes and structures surrounding data publication on repositories are to some extent still cumbersome, and frequently researchers struggle to put in the time and effort for their own datasets. The project CREATIVE aims at facilitating and supporting the access to the generic repository RADAR4KIT for the scientific communities within the Climate and Environment Centre (CEC) at KIT. This will be achieved by creating customized templates and entry forms for domain-specific metadata. At the same time, we will build interfaces to directly access the ZKU (meta) data in RADAR4KIT from the national research data infrastructure NFDI4Earth and the virtual research environment V-FOR-WaTer at KIT. With further activities, e.g. organizing specific research data management (RDM) workshops, a network of data stewards in the individual institutes of CEC will be established, strengthening sustainable and advanced RDM at KIT. CREATIVE is a close collaboration between the Institute of Water and River Basin Management (IWG), the Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK) and the Steinbuch Computing Centre (SCC) at KIT. The new team member will have three main tasks. a) In close collaboration with the institutes of the CEC, the requirements for the metadata templates need to be discussed and defined. This will entail interviews, feedback rounds, workshops, and a good understanding of both the diverse datasets at CEC and metadata structures and standards. b) The second task is the implementation of these requirements into templates for RADAR4KIT. This task will happen in close collaboration with the colleagues from SCC and V-FOR-WaTer. c) To establish the data stewards network, the candidate will organise community building measures and events among the relevant people within CEC and support the data stewards in specific RDM questions.
