Environmental Technician

Via currently has a fantastic opportunity to join our Environmental Management & Design Team as a Environmental Technician based at our Trent Bridge House Office

The successful candidate will help to assist in the provision of the environmental consultancy function providing assistance in the delivery of environmental assessment services to meet project objectives and contribute to business needs.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support on a range of projects for internal and external clients particularly in the fields of geo-environmental, geotechnical, noise and ecology to meet client and stakeholder requirements.
  • Undertake a range of site-based investigation and survey work to assist with project delivery for internal and external clients, achieving quality, programme and financial targets and fulfilling legislative and technical requirements.
  • Assist in the production of a range of technical reports across the range of environmental consultancy specialisms to achieve quality, programme and financial targets and fulfilling legislative and technical requirements.
  • Provide specialist IT support and expertise to colleagues in the wider team to support delivery of the projects across the organisation to maintain high quality and effective delivery in line with industry best practice.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety and Quality management systems, processes and requirements ensuring full adherence to health, safety and environmental legislation, policy and best practice to protect people and the environment.
  • Assist with communication and liaison with clients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including members of the public and elected Members to facilitate project delivery and maintain positive company reputation.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in a relevant environmental subject or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a technical environment.
  • Strong ICT skills including competence in specialist computer applications used to support environmental assessments including GIS, AutoCAD, relevant site investigation software and other data management programmes.
  • Ability to undertake field-based work including supervision, monitoring and site survey.
  • Ability to prepare a range of relevant technical reports.
  • Ability to provide information, communicating and working collaboratively with internal and external customers, stakeholders and colleagues to achieve delivery objectives.
  • A high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care and the ability to set an example to other staff.
