As part of an on-going programme of investment and development, the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Upper Crustal Geophysics.
The successful candidate should share our passion for high quality research and research-led education and will contribute to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of Earth and Environmental Sciences. You will also supervise MSc and PhD thesis students. The successful candidate will show evidence of ability to develop and sustain an internationally recognised, externally funded interdisciplinary research programme in Upper Crustal Geophysics. A strong commitment to research aimed at helping address major societal problems is desirable. We are particularly interested in hiring academics who can develop synergies within our existing research portfolio and whose research includes at least one of: physical properties and processes of the upper crust; geophysical methods used in the study of upper crust tectonics; and geophysics as applied to the green energy transition and the sustainable exploration and management of Earth resources
The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences is a lively and dynamic community that aims to promote sustainability through education, dissemination, and direct participation, enabling students and staff to make positive changes to our environmental impact, in particular supporting Cardiff University's declaration of a Climate Emergency and aim to become carbon neutral (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030.

The position is full-time (35 hours per week) available immediately and is open-ended.
