Research scientist and lecturer in environmental stable isotope geochemistry

Applicants are invited for a six-years position in the field of low-temperature stable isotope geochemistry. Candidates must hold a PhD degree at the time of appointment. They should further have a strong track record in environmental stable isotope geochemistry and experience in gas isotope mass spectrometry. Experience in stable isotope hydrology and the triple-O isotope system are particularly welcome. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an own research agenda in the above fields that includes the application for research grants, co-supervise student thesis projects, and operate a gas-IRMS lab with two Thermo 253+ spectrometers.

There is a limited teaching requirement that includes a lecture in environmental stable isotope geochemistry (1 semester, 2 hrs / week) and (isotope) geochemical lab-courses. Total teaching load including time for supervision of students' degrees is 4 hrs / week per semester.

The full-time position is available from 01. Feb. 2023 - pending clearance of administrative requirements - or later as agreed, and is limited to six years. The salary is based on remuneration group A 13 of the pay scale for the German public sector (Land NRW).
