Research Laboratory Supervisor

responsible mainly for management and operation of field-emission electron microprobe (FE-EMP) and laser-ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). The person should have broad scientific interest and technical experience. The position (100 % E13) is available from 01.03.2023 (or soon afterwards) and is permanent following a probatory period.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • responsible for operation and maintainance of equipment
  • support and instruction of researchers and students
  • development of new analytical protocols
  • administrative management (ordering etc.)
  • contribution to scientific research and publications

The position involves teaching of microscopy and analytical courses at bachelor and master level (in English and/or German language) and collaboration in student supervision.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in geosciences or related field at the time of appointment, a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of students, staff and faculty.
